While I was in school, having a boy BFF made me appreciate a guy’s perspective on friendships, crushes, academics, hobbies — everything that defines an adolescent’s life. I grew up learning to see a boy’s perspective on things that mattered from a very young age and that set the ground for a lot of friendships that I could easily foster with men later in my life. It just becomes easier to relate to the other sex.

2) Dropping off awkwardness in our formative years
We feel awkward about a multitude of things that relate to the biological differences between men and women, physiological changes that girls and boys go through during teenage and opening up on deeply personal issues. I remember my BFF helping me with engineering mathematics and statistics during college and I helping him with innovative recipes for his coffee cafe later in the course of our careers. Another example could be that while a girl goes through an emotional roller coaster, a boy BFF may be able to pacify her with a rational outlook creating a good balance of heart and the mind, emotionality, and rationality in the friendship.
